I earned a degree, worked for Disney, then became an Aveda-trained cosmetologist and hair and makeup educator. Aer 11 years of building a strong clientele behind the chair—oen booked four months in advance—I was looking for a new home. My why: e opportunity to join a salon that truly values diversity, equity, and inclusion along with artistic expression and modern benefits, was a game changer. My business: My clientele followed me, and I recruited two other successful stylists. I've developed makeup classes and am on the road to becoming a Technical Ambassador. I'm thrilled to be part of the Ulta Beauty team, where I can thrive as a Master Stylist and educator, sharing my skills and embracing every opportunity to grow. GIGI STEWART Elite Stylist | California 2.5 years with Ulta Beauty My why: What brought me to Ulta Beauty? Paid education classes, a chance to build a loyal client base, and the flexibility of my schedule, especially aer having my daughter. I was looking for more opportunities to grow and build a long- term career. I don't want to be behind the chair forever. I want a career path where I can be a mentor, lead, and educate. In the meantime, I'm earning commission every week and have comprehensive benefits, which is a perk many traditional salons do not offer stylists. My business: I started my career at Ulta Beauty as an Assistant Stylist without any clients, but with Ulta Academy's classes and the ability to convert from the sales floor to the salon, I had my chair full within a year. I was promoted to Master Stylist, then Elite Stylist, and I have already qualified to be a Mentor in the Assistant Stylist program. My future: Every goal I've set for myself I have accomplished. My next goal is to become a Service District Manager (SDE) for Ulta Beauty. ASHLEIGH ESCH Elite Stylist | Minnesota 6 years with Ulta Beauty My path: I was ready for a change. I had outgrown the salon I was working at and reached a point in my career where I needed to make a more intentional move—something with long-term stability and real benefits. In the beauty industry, having access to corporate- level benefits is almost unheard of, so that was a huge factor for me. My why: What really drew me to Ulta Beauty was how well the company supports its stylists—not just with benefits like PTO and health care, but with education and opportunity. If I need support, my managers are always available and listen. at kind of culture makes a big difference. Belonging: Working here has helped me appreciate variety. At smaller salons, you're oen limited to one brand or product line. But Ulta Beauty is different—it's inclusive, expansive, and caters to every kind of client. Being part of that has expanded not just my tool kit, but my perspective. ULTA BEAUTY advertisement
