here's a quote many Harry Potter fans know all too well from the movie
version of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban that says, "Happiness
can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn
on the light." It's intended to provide comfort in a time of extreme distress.
And it's a quote many people in the fandom have tattooed on their bodies or
proudly displayed on T-shirts. It's also incredibly fi tting to the journey of Twylla
Jane DeGuzman (she/they), AHP's 2025 Hair Pro of the Year. Not only has Twylla
overcome periods of darkness, but she's also done so by bringing a contrast of light.
Twylla's career started 17 years ago at a multilocation salon in the Chicago
suburbs. As a savvy self-starter, Twylla thrived. She used her skills from her
bachelor's degree in business to gain traction on social media. She quickly gained
