"Overapplication, incorrect use, or use of incompatible products can potentially lead to adverse effects," Amouyal says. Many clients may see hair-bonding treatments as a license to color their hair more often, but as a hair professional, it's important to set realistic expectations around your clients' results. "Even with the best bond builders on the market, you still get chemical damage," George says. "[Bond building] is going to help the health of your hair, which will help keep the length, but it's not a cure-all. It's not going to prevent damage 100 percent; it's just supposed to help reduce damage a little bit." THE FUTURE OF HAIR HEALTH Hair-bonding products may be a relatively recent innovation, but they have already had a transformative impact on the industry.
