seamless fade. Do not use a cream
or oil-based pigment—they create a
streaky, rough transition. Once you
have chosen your base color, apply
and fully cure your favorite, no-wipe
matte topcoat. Using a small, round
makeup brush, circle the brush onto
the pressed pigment and tap out
the excess. Tap the brush into the
center of the nail until the color is
concentrated, then begin tapping
in circular motions around the
shape until it fades at the edges.
THE MAKEUP SPONGE AND
GEL POLISH TECHNIQUE
is technique requires multiple
cured layers to provide a vibrant
result. With this method, you
can either apply a concentrated
circle of gel polish onto the center
of the makeup sponge, applying
less around the center, or tap the
makeup sponge onto a dollop of
gel on a palette and dab it onto a
clean portion of the palette until
the dot has faded to your desired
effect. Once you've prepped the
sponge, tap it onto the center
of the nail and cure fully.
