Why do you love what you do?
We have the ability to change lives with
beauty, giving someone the confidence
to maybe apply for that new job or the
strength to leave a bad relationship.
Beauty changes lives; never underestimate
the power of what we do as stylists.
Where do you find inspiration?
I find my inspiration in everything
around me, whether it be nature,
interior design, or exterior designs in
architecture. But mostly I find it in the
individual I am working on, customizing
the perfect look to go with their vibe.
How do you avoid burnout?
Burnout can easily happen; that's why
I put myself in a few different avenues
of this industry, from editorial to
behind the chair to education.
What's your best tip for marketing
on social media?
Post your work for others to see. By putting
your work out there, you can show the
world what you have! Take advantage of the
reach—inspire and you will be inspired.
What's one piece of advice you'd
give to a new cosmetologist?
Education, education, education! It is so
important today, and luckily, there are so
many venues for free education. Learn it all—
from chemical work to cutting to styling.
