METALLICA COLLECTION

A soft and sensual collection celebrating classic
design with an edge, Metallica was inspired by
the Fendi Collection, where the hair color and
clothing fabric blended into the same color
palette (brilliantly designed by Sam McKnight and
team with Fendi).
I wanted to off er images that would inspire the
stylist and be an easy buy-in for clients. As much
as I love avant-garde hair, there is something very
fresh about simple, relaxed, and sensual hair. I
think the challenge with commercial styling is
not to be too common or boring. For me, this is
harder than designing an avant-garde collection.
Commercial style has boundaries, while avant-
garde is about breaking the rules.
At the end of the day, we must remind ourselves
that we are in the beauty business, where great
style completes who a person is and does not
compete with who they are.
