As I write these opening words, I reflect on the importance of this beautiful industry we are a part of. I think about how we, as stylists and skin therapists, are day-makers, life-changers, confidence-builders, and heart-soldiers. We make a difference each day to every guest we touch. What we do matters, and it matters big. I joined this industry 20 years ago because I was pulled toward it. Actually, the beauty industry chose me. I found a place where I could be my authentic self, where everything clicked for me and I could use my hands and my heart to create art in hair. This path has led me to learn from the talent around me, to strive to be an artist who supports his fellow artists, and to pay forward all that the beauty industry has given to me. This path led me to Ulta Beauty. I joined Ulta Beauty as a Pro Team member in 2017, then became chief artistic director in 2018 because I could see the commitment Ulta Beauty had made to salon professionals. Beauty professionals in search of top-notch paid education, great commission potential (from day one), benefits, paid time off, and flexible scheduling should look at a services career with Ulta Beauty. This incredible foundation has been built under the leadership of Nick Stenson, SVP, Store & Services Operations, who is himself a hairdresser. He comes from this industry; he looks after the beauty pro and he has our best interests in mind. Another integral piece of this industry lies within diversity and inclusion. This is a core value within Ulta Beauty. We celebrate differences, value individuality, and strive to service any guest who comes through our doors. We have enlisted powerhouse artists and educators to build our curriculum and train our army of stylists in the more than 1,200 locations in the US! We are taking a very intentional approach to every piece of education we create. This education is a regular part of each stylist's career, it is always available, and we have a team of district and regional educators who are there to make sure it remains a focal point. Our hope is that this piece inspires you and that you learn something about Ulta Beauty you may not have known before. If you are looking for a new salon to call home, we invite you to take a look at Ulta Beauty.
