The First Time
The first time is always the most
memorable. I vividly remember my first
day of high school and college, and
the first time I held each of my children.
Those were precious moments. All the
hard work that led up to that moment
transformed into jubilation. In many
ways, this issue of AHP Indie Stylist
reminds me of those moments. OK,
that's a tiny bit dramatic—but in all
honesty, sharing this special issue with
you is like giving birth or creating new
friendships in a new setting.
I'm thrilled to introduce the first print issue of
AHP Indie Stylist magazine and the announcement of
our first AHP Indie Stylist of the Year, Nicole Leal.
Nicole's story is so fitting for the first print issue;
just as she shares how her career continues to evolve,
Associated Hair Professionals (AHP) is evolving too.
As many industry publications are moving to
all-digital issues, we have produced a printed version
of the magazine for you to enjoy and savor. Again,
as I travel down memory lane, I'm reminded of the
days and weeks I spent paging feverishly through the
September issue of Vogue in search of fashion and
beauty inspo for back-to-school looks. I remember
feeling like the issue was created just for me. I hope
you will feel the same way about this special issue.
