Make time for your friends and loved ones. Make time to breathe. Appreciate what you've got. Being away has been a huge and difficult adjustment, but going back will be a whole new challenge because when it happens it's going to happen in a rush. Be safe. We will get through this together, and many of us are going to come through stronger than ever. IS: What was the inspiration behind this issue's cover image? CB: Inspiration can be found everywhere. I was watching a nature show and was fascinated by the movement of a jellyfish—so fluid and light, drifting peacefully with the current. Some think that you just come up with an idea and voila, an hour later you have a finished result. As most creatives know, the research and DE-CONSTRUCT collection Hair: Chris Baran Makeup: Wenya Chang-Jasmine Styling: Jeremié Cote Photographer: Tom Concordia development takes five times longer than you think it will. But I love the process of researching how to make a shape work. Part of it is trying something new and screwing up. Usually the screwups are where the learning happens. I've found that inside the frustration is where the great idea is hiding. You just have to keep your mind open and not miss the beauty in the vision when it strikes. In this instance, the finish was almost there, except I had cut hard lines within the internal shape. Combined with the hard perimeter, it came off too hard and was just disturbing. Back to the drawing board I went. I thought about how feathers are soft yet create a hard perimeter at the same time. Point-cutting the edges gave it a chewier feel, and it really worked for me. The thing I've learned about the creative process is keeping the kitchen sink out of it. Simplicity is key. K.I.S.S—Keep It Simple, Sir.
