TESSA CRUME Tessa Crume, PhD, is an associate professor in the Epidemiology Department at the Colorado School of Health at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Her research focuses on the development and utilization of public health surveillance systems to understand the burden of disease. She has been an academic researcher since 2011. LISA BAKEWELL Lisa Bakewell is a full-time freelance writer, editor, perpetual learner, and lover of life in Chicagoland. Additionally, Rivera has developed a high-end line of beauty products and professional styling tools under the By Gina brand. contriButors JESSICA QUICK Jessica Quick has spent more than 15 years in the beauty and health industry, with her latest role as co-founder and managing partner at Buzz Beauté. Specializing in product and trade marketing worldwide, she has worked with Dermalogica, Revlon, and CND Shellac in the spa, salon, retail, and direct-to-consumer channels, developing profitable strategies and tactics for companies and hero products.
