Instead of being a spokesperson for a product line, I designed my own hair color and hot tool line. But, even more importantly, I am in the business of encouraging others—encouraging them to build their own businesses, supporting them by providing scholarship programs, and contributing as a voice for positive change in the industry. My point is, I trained myself to always focus on the can. Know that you are important and valuable too. We all have the ability to focus on the can if we put our minds to it. Don't ever allow someone to determine your dreams or your destination. No one can tell you that you can't unless you allow them to. I believe that as long as you have a passion for what you do and work hard to achieve it, you are successful—no matter the level you ascend to. If you know in your heart that you have given it everything you have, then you can be assured you have triumphed. Never focus on your limitations, and don't accept it when others do either. Instead, let those people fuel the passion inside you. And remember, as long as you have the desire, the drive, and a good work ethic, the sky is the limit!
